The Mission of Detroit Mountain Recreation Area, Inc. is to promote sound environmental recreation and educational programming to develop the health and wellness of children, families and communities.
Our History
Detroit Mountain was a family-owned alpine ski operation for over 50 years. Shortly after it closed in 2004, local community members began discussing how the mountain could be revitalized into a year-round recreational facility. With this vision in mind, Detroit Mountain Recreation Area, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit. After many discussions and research, a campaign to “Bring Back Detroit Mountain” was launched. With incredible support from the local community and beyond, Detroit Mountain is back!
